Hello,
I installed HoPe 2.5.8 and customized it for this Website: http://www.moorishgypsy.com.
Here’s my issue: I want the home page to be static – the Welcome! page – and the Blog page to be on a page called “Blog.” I set it that way in WordPress; however, it seems the HoPe theme won’t accept that change. I can’t find in the code where I can change the Home page to “Home,” and why I now have 1) a page in the navigation called “Blog” that is actually the home page, 2) a page in the navigation called “Blog” (yes, there are TWO “Blog” listings in the navigation), and 3) a listing in the navigation that says “Welcome!” which is actually the home page – and the page that one of the listings for “Blog” points to.
Here’s what I need to do:
1) The “Welcome!” page needs to be the home page, and listed as “Home”
2) There needs to be ONE page called “Blog,” and it should point to posts – and it would NOT be the home page
3) Remove the second listing that says “Blog.”
I have poured through the code and am going NUTS trying to find this; why doesn’t the WordPress Settings to set a static page work here? In Settings, it’s set to the Home page is a State page, and the Static page is the Welcome! page, but this is the mess that I end up with when doing this.
This is very simple in most other templates I’ve customized; this is fairly simple temple, and I can’t understand what I’m missing so I can fix this pretty small issue.
Your immediate response is greatly appreciated!!!!
